the importance of noticing
Today, I am grateful for new perspectives. Driving home I was reflecting on the act of giving. Giving is one of my "love languages." I use it to express appreciation and fondness. I have also used it to manipulate and to self-soothe, as a way to gain validation from others, or insert myself in their lives. And, as a way to make myself feel virtuous, to prove "I am a good person." I have given wholeheartedly and selfishly.
I am learning how to genuinely celebrate the wins of others. This requires my trust in the Universe - life is not a competition or a race - my time will come. This also requires complete and total love for myself - I am following my heart and finding my happiness - my light shines so brightly that celebrating others brings me joy.
I accomplished noticing. The simple act of observing can be so powerful in altering how I approach the world.
I delighted in dancing with my shadow. I saw the balance in life today and for a moment, I had an honest and deep appreciation for all aspects of life.
