choose laughter
Today, I am grateful for an increased awareness of my thoughts and emotions. With increased awareness comes the ability to detach, to allow them to pass like clouds in the sky. It took me a while to actually understand that saying and even longer to experience it, but I do now.
I am learning how to observe frustration and exhaustion. When I do this, I am able to respond to these feelings directly. Usually, I need something but haven't articulated that need to myself. If I am able to pause, I prevent lashing out on others unnecessarily and, I prioritize self-care.
I accomplished observing my emotions, feeling them, and recognizing when I was lashing out on others because I was mentally and physically depleted.
I delighted in my morning meditation, in sending lovingkindness to a person I love, and in a cold beer/Netflix combo after work.
